Overlooked by a series of imposing rocky mountains, the championship 18-hole, par-72 course at Tamarina Golf Club offers sweeping views of the stunning Rempart Mountain and Tamarin Bay. Designed by Rodney Wright and built to USGA standards, this 107-acre site in the west of Mauritius stretches almost 7,000 meters.
The Rivière du Rempart cuts a dramatic deep gorge throughout the course, while the estuary provides a breathtaking setting for the signature par-3 hole 13. Wright stated: “The design brief was to construct a true championship golf course that could be enjoyed by all levels of players, and at 7,524 yards from the tips, the challenge is obvious. The secret to accomplishing the enjoyment part is fairness, variety, the abundance of tee positions, and memorability.”
